CBC/Radio‑Canada recently hosted a two‑day virtual forum titled #NotOk — Stand Up for Journalism and Democracy. The goal of this forum was to bring together people from across the news industry to share experiences, support each other, and take a common stand against the growing problem of online harm against media professionals. I co-hosted this session which included presenting sensitive material, sharing my expertise of this subject matter, navigating conversations in English and French and moderating panels.
I spoke alongside Nobel Peace Prize winner Maria Ressa about the rise in online attacks against women journalists for this article on Al Jazeera's 'The Listening Post.'

In this conversation, I spoke with AFP's Phil Chetwynd who helped me unpack key lessons for our industry, from empathetic leadership, to how to mitigate the impact of exposure to graphic material, to the power of storytelling in building solidarity.
