I am a consummate multilingual media professional with significant international storytelling experience. My global journalism has taken me to fault-lines, frontlines and given me a seat at some of the biggest stories in the past 25 years.
I have seen and been to the edge and now I want everyone to feel safe, heard and recognise the power of storytelling.
Through my writing, speaking, training, facilitating and consulting, I share stories and lessons from living through conflict, disaster, crisis and transformation.
They helped me thrive and they can help you, your colleagues, communities and companies thrive too.

'Mental Health and Wellbeing: a Practical Guide' is a seminal text charting the evolution of conversations around wellbeing in the journalism industry.
But more than that, it's a collection of stories shared by high profile journalists and media experts who bravely offer their experiences as an example of the power of storytelling beyond our industry.
Through chapters on issues including online harassment, vicarious trauma, moral injury and empathetic leadership, this book offers a message to anyone - journalist or otherwise - about why supporting people's wellbeing can create healthier cultures everywhere.

'No Woman's Land: On The Frontlines With Female Reporters' was a book I conceived, edited and co-authored, and the first publication dedicated to the safety of women journalists. Featuring the stories of 40 female media professionals from around the world, alongside tips on how to navigate hostile environments at work, it became the reference book for newsrooms wanting to better support the safety of their female journalists and, a decade on from it's publication, it is still a valuable guide for our industry as well as a fascinating collection of stories from brave and talented women.
My debut fiction collection 'The Thin Line Between Everything and Nothing' was shaped by my career as a journalist and storyteller. Drawing together stories that take the reader from the banks of the Amazon river to the Balkans, frontlines of conflict to hostile environments closer to home, it's a collection that finds power in fragility, and force in the moments that make us stop and give thanks.
My work was described by the BBC's Chief International Correspondent Lyse Doucet, as 'powerful writing as strong and inspiring as the writer. Hannah Storm's short stories about little moments reveal far bigger truths about a wider, often wicked world.'
The BBC's Chief International Correspondent Lyse Doucet described my book, 'The Thin Line Between Everything and Nothing' as 'powerful writing as strong and inspiring as the writer. Hannah Storm's short stories about little moments reveal far bigger truths about a wider, often wicked world.'
What makes Hannah's approach particularly effective is her ability to connect with journalists as a fellow professional who understands the unique pressures of our work. She doesn't speak as an outsider or merely as a mental health expert, but as someone who has personally navigated trauma in journalism. This perspective has enabled her to create a safe space where even journalists from the most heavily affected regions feel comfortable sharing their experiences.'

'Hannah is an absolutely fantastic facilitator and speaker... I would not hesitate to recommend Hannah for any project around mental health, news safety, or newsroom capacity building.'
